Pindaya is a quiet town perched on the bank of the placid Pone Ta lote Lake. The Pindaya cave, containing thousands of Buddha images, is one of the interesting destinations in Inlay region.
The ancient caves are about one mile southwest of the town, and can be reached by car. Except for the young and energetic, the best way is to go leisurely be horsecart to the foot of the hills, reserving your energy for the 200 steps up the covered stairway leading to the cave entrance and for exploring the huge meandering maze made up of numerous caves.

The process of typical Bamboo hat making is an experience to share at the village of Thayetkone in Pindaya Township in Shan State. The frame is made of bamboo and the cover, of bamboo husks.

Situated in the western part of Pindaya; a 4 hour walk up to the village is an experience of the life style of Palaung tribes and tea plantations. The weather is pleasantly cold the whole year round.
